Susan Macmillan's "Turbo" Achieves AG CH Status

Saturday 22nd October 2011 at Knox

Handled by Kathy Macmillan

Needing just one more pass to be gained within the last 6 weeks of trials in 2011 in Victoria, before the elusive AG CH Title disappears from the Agility rules, Turbo in Michael Cowman's ring at Knox has a blinder of a run to come first in the ring and nail the coveted 9th Victorian AG CH title.

As Kathy tells the story: On Saturday at Knox Turby Burby hit her contacts in Michael Cowman's Masters Agility, won the ring and gained her agility champion title - with only two months to spare before the opportunity to join this elite group is taken away. It has been wonderful having the opportunity to run a fast dog over the past few years and Turbo has taught me a lot about the sport. At times it has been frustrating - with both tunnel suck problems (I remember a Clive Makepeace Novice course in which she took the first jump and promptly zoomed off to the opposite corner of the ring to reach a tunnel) and lots of contact issues (a whole year spent in Excellent Agility), but the thrill of a good fast Q round more than makes up for it. I would like to thank Joe Spicer for breeding Turbs, Mum for not complaining when I pinched her dog, the judges for providing the courses that have challenged us and my fellow competitors for both inspiring me to do better and making trial days fun. And of course big thanks to Turbo - her enthusiasm for agility is contagious.
